From December 2000 through July 2005, Doug Coulbert worked with families and children living in Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya.  His work became known as "Moja Moja" which means "one by one" in Swahili.  This website describes the work of Moja Moja from 2001 through 2005.

Doug and a few friends and family continued to privately sponsor the needs of a family of seven orphans in Western Kenya, from 2005 through 2009.
 

   
Today, he continues to be actively involved in the lives of several Kenyan families.  He also supports the efforts of
Kipepeo - a program providing educational opportunities for at risk teenage girls from the Kibera slum area of Nairobi. Please visit their website:
